TO: Minister Desley Boyle
SUBJECT: SECURING THE FUTURE OF THE DAINTREE
__________
Dear Minister Boyle,
I am writing to urge you to keep development controls in the
Daintree obligatory. It is crucial that we eliminate any further
urbanization in the Daintree Tropical Rainforest and halt
already increasing wildlife extinctions, weed invasions, and
disease damage.
This international treasure is a biodiverisity "hotspot"
and the only place in the world that can boast two World Heritage
Areas.
It is clear that I support all efforts of the Queensland Ministry
of the Environment, the Daintree Rainforest Land Trust, and
other conservation groups to protect the 120 million year
old Daintree – the world's oldest tropical rainforest
– from urbanization. Furthermore, I encourage any plan
that allows more time for buyback of the rainforest to continue.
Sincerely,
(Your Name)
